Childcare Team

Compassionate and Dedicated Staff

At Cumberland Hub Daycare, we strive to have all our team of Educators bring a diverse range of experiences and expertise, contributing to the unique and nurturing environment we provide. They are highly knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated professionals. It’s important to us that our staff members are qualified, and therefore, all permanent and full-time staff Registered Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) or hold equivalent qualifications. As ECEs, they are required to be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and adhere to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Our staff members also prioritize the safety and well-being of the children in our care. They are certified in Standard First Aid, which includes CPR Training, ensuring they can respond effectively to any medical emergencies that may arise. Additionally, all staff, students, and volunteers undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check before being allowed to work in any capacity at our center. This screening process provides a secure and protected environment for the children.

At The Hub, we are proud to support the education and training of future E.C.E.s. Throughout the year, we welcome students to complete their practicum in our classrooms under the supervision of our experienced educators. These students undergo evaluations midway through their placements and again upon completion. It is important to note that students are never considered part of the ratio and are never left alone with the children. We have had the privilege of hosting students from institutions such as Algonquin, St. Lawrence, and Fanshawe Colleges. Additionally, we occasionally welcome high school co-op students who are exploring careers in the E.C.E. field or related fields – as well as students who are required to complete 40 hours of volunteer work for graduation. These students, too, are never left unsupervised and undergo evaluations during their time with us.

A testament to our dedication and nurturing environment, our Directors/Supervisors have been an integral part of The Hub for over 30 years. We take great pride in our longstanding staff members, some of whom have been with us for more than two decades. This level of commitment ensures stability, consistency, and a wealth of experience within our team.

At The Hub, we strive to provide exceptional care and a supportive learning environment for children. Rest assured that our dedicated and passionate staff members are fully committed to your child’s well-being and development.

Educators participate in Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) – involving mandatory completion of training provided by the CECE, As well as, individual learning plans for further growth in the field of Early Learning and Care.
